3-Dimensional Imaging

The 21 EEG channels work together to create a 3D image of the brain, which is not possible on systems with less channels. This means that we are not limited to training the surface of the skull. We can see with great precision which areas in the brain are deviant, and train exactly those.

Thanks to 19 measurements and 2 references, our system is very precise: we can tell exactly which type of waves is present and where. Thanks to this precision, our reports are often useful to medical professionals.

21-channel QEEG Z-Scored Loreta Neurofeedback

At NeuroVP, we practice scientific neurofeedback only. Its complete name is “21-channel QEEG Z-Scored Neurofeeback” and we’re happy to explain what this means.

  • 21-channels is the number of electrodes where we record EEG signal : 19 measurement points and 2 references. Many different QEEG machines and software exist, with different numbers of channels. However, more channels means more precision and efficient training.
  • QEEG: stands for “quantitative electroencephalogram”, our software and hardware measures the incoming signal 256 times a second, analyse it and give real-time feedback.
  • Z-Scored: we are constantly comparing the signal with a database of people that don’t have any complaints, and who perform above average. This means that neurofeedback can be used to train for better mental performance. You’re constantly training towards a better performing and more comfortable state.
  • Loreta is an acronym that stands for “LOw Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography Analysis”. This means that we get a real-time measure of your electrical brain activity but in 3D, and that we can train deeper regions of your brain. Systems with less electrodes are usually restricted to “surface training”.
